Feather Double Edge (DE) Stainless Steel Razor Blades with Platinum Coatings are known throughout the shaving world for their extra sharp edges and shaving comfort. Made from harden, high-grade stainless steel and advanced technology by the Feather Safety Razor Company in Japan. Double-coated with platinum for smooth shaving. Since these blades are so sharp and engineered with such high precision, you only need to apply very slight pressure which reduces shaving irritation and razor burn (in other words - don't push down so hard!)
Feather Double Edge Razor Blades will fit any standard Edwin Jagger, Merkur razor or other double edge razor. Each blade is individually wrapped in parrafin coated paper and packed in handy dispensers of ten blades. A single Feather blade can usually provide about 7 to 10 close shaves. Recognized as among the sharpest and best razor blades in the world. Since these blades are so sharp, we do not recommend them to beginner shavers who often apply too much pressure.
A NOTE ON DOUBLE EDGE BLADES - Using double edge blades comes closest to replicating the amazing shave experience of a straight razor used in traditional barbershops. Double edge razor blades typically last longer than common multi-blade cartridges with 3 or 5 razor blades, are much more economical, and don't use the environmentally damaging plastic used in multi-blade cartridges.
Grooming Tips
- Don't overdo it: Wash your face only twice per day, morning and evening. Excess washing can cause irritation. Use only your bare hands to wash and don't use a wash cloth which can be irritating. Regular bar soap or body shower gels can really dry out your face. We recommend using facial cleanser gels/liquids.
- After a shave, don't just rinse your face and walk out the door. You've just removed a layer of skin. ALWAYS apply an alcohol-free product so you don't irritate the skin at its most vulnerable moment after shaving. And start NOW (just ask your female friends). It's no secret that using high-quality moisturizers earlier in life yields big payouts later. Think of it as a golden parachute for your skin.
- Always use a good shaving cream or shaving soap. Inexpensive foams in cans are often mostly air with irritating ingredients.
- Try to shave during or right after a shower. The hot steam makes your skin easier to shave for a closer shave with less irritation.
- If your face ever stings from using a product, stop using it immediately.
- A shaving brush doesn't take any longer to use than your fingers and is the key to achieving the perfect shave. Men are always amazed at the huge improvement in their shave when using a badger shaving brush.
